St. Germain Cocktails

Why do I keep hearing so much about St. Germain lately? The elderflower liqueur seems to be everywhere. If you’re looking for something to do with it, bartender and blogger Jamie Boudreau has created a site to archive all the St. Germain recipes he’s collected: St-Germain Cocktails. It’s organized by spirit, and it’s mobile device-friendly.

The Jim Rose cocktail caught my eye. It’s a variation on the Jack Rose:

1.5 oz Laird’s Bonded Apple Jack
.75 oz St Germain
.5 oz Fresh Lemon
.5 oz Proper Grenadine

It calls for making your own grenadine, which I wrote about here (try it–it’s really worth it).

The curiously named Calista Flockhart cocktail also grabbed me. It’s created by bartender Jason Litrell, currently of Dram in Brooklyn:

One Dash Absinthe
One dash Simple
1/2 oz. lemon
1/2 oz. pineapple
3/4 oz. St Germain
1.5 oz. Siembra Azul Reposado

Certainly interesting, but maybe the Dia Del Amor would be an easier tequila/St. Germain cocktaill to start with:

1 part St-Germain
1 ½ parts Reposado Tequila
¾ part fresh lime
2 dashes hot sauce
