Finally, Another Use for That Bottle of Galliano

I bought a small bottle of Galliano a couple months back to make Harvey Wallbangers (a screwdriver with Galliano), but I haven’t found anything else to do with it. Portland, Oregon-based bartender and Galliano brand ambassador Jacob Grier wrote on just this issue yesterday and included a couple of recipes. The one that caught my eye was the Livorno Buck, created by Dave Shenaut, bartender at Portland’s Beaker and Flask:

.75 oz Galliano
.75 oz gin
.75 oz dry vermouth
.75 oz lime juice
ginger beer

Shake the first four ingredients with ice and strain into an ice-filled collins glass. Top with ginger beer and serve.

Note that it’s equal parts of gin, Galliano, dry vermouth, and lime juice. Should be an interesting flavor combination. Can’t wait to try it. Check Grier’s blog, Liquidity Preference for another Galliano recipe.
